RECENSIONE/REVIEW : Antonio Giorgio "IMAJICA" (2023- Epic Spirit/Andromeda Relix/AUSR) su www.metalhead.it a cura di Luca Zakk https://www.metalhead.it/album/antonio-giorgio-imajica/ È tornato il vocalist italiano Antonio Giorgio, con un nuovo album che fa seguito al suo “Golden Metal: the Quest for the Inner Glory” (recensione qui), uscito nel 2017. “Imajica”, un marcato passo in avanti, è una metal opera in tutti i sensi: dieci brani che compongono i tre atti di una storia che si erige tra misticismo e senso epico, tra arte e magia, tra la malvagità delle tenebre e la redenzione della luce. I riferimenti stilistici, radicati su un power/symphonic metal di qualità, sono molteplici: tra questi Kamelot, Black Sabbath, Queensrÿche, Iron Maiden, Conception, King Crimson e perfino Goblin… e sono numerosi anche gli ospiti che aiutano Antonio a dar vita a questo maestoso e impegnativo lavoro; spiccano infatti le voci di Mark Vanderbilt (cantante originale dei Kamelot), di Ian Parry (ex-Elegy e Ayreon, qui solo in una bonus track digitale) e di Claudia Beltrame (Degrees of Truth, ex Holy Shire), mentre tra i musicisti troviamo i chitarristi Luca Gagnoni (Veil of Conspiracy, Svart Vinter), Emanuela Marino (Veil of Conspiracy) ed Antonello Giliberto, i bassisti Diego Banchero (Il Segno del Comando) e Steve Vawamas (Athlantis, Mastercastle), i tastieristi Simone Giorgini (Darkend, Nightbreeder & The Wintermoon Orchestra), Gabriels e Beppi Menozzi (Old Bridge) ed i batteristi Francesco Vaccarezza e Ottavio Liguori. Ricercatezza, senso epico, vocals curate, ampio spazio ai solisti, chitarre virtuose in primis: un lavoro immenso di composizione, registrazione ed arrangiamento, per oltre settanta minuti di avventura sonora coinvolgente.
