https://www.metalshock.it/antonio-giorgio-imajica/ RECENSIONE di "IMAJICA"- Antonio GIorgio (2023- Epic Spirit/Andromeda Relix/AUSR) Per la sua nuova fatica il cantautore italiano Antonio Giorgio si è circondato di ospiti speciali come Mark Vanderbilt (cantante originale dei Kamelot ) e Ian Parry ex Elegy. Imajica è un Concept Album/Opera Metal-Rock epico e mistico diviso in 3 atti sul forte legame tra Arte e Magia mescolato con eventi personali e riflessioni sul Presente e il Futuro dell’Umanità, secondo capitolo della saga delle avventure di Gabriel Raven. Capire Imajica non sarà semplice e saranno necessari più ascolti per intuire passo passo ogni simbolo, ogni artefatto magico che l’autore ha voluto celarvi. Partendo da una base di metal classico si possono scorgere da subito atmosfere epiche e sinfoniche sin dalla opener “Wisdom of Imagination“. Ma le atmosfere possono divenire subito oscure e gotiche come in “Gothic Church” con una ritmica incalzante e una voce molto teatrale. L’atmosfera dell’intero disco è molto spirituale tendente al sacro, la copertina stessa del disco fa già presagire quello che andremo ad ascoltare, qualcosa di metafisico, quasi come ritrovarsi in un’altra dimensione. Incalzante la base ritmica basso e batteria alle quali si aggiunge una chitarra corposa che svolge egregiamente il suo lavoro “Lucifer’s Treasures“, ma a dare il giusto tocco evocativo e solenne sono le tastiere e gli arrangiamenti sinfonici. C’è spazio anche per la ballad di turno “In Your Eyes (Emerald Light)” dove Antonio duetta con Claudia Beltrame. Ma il pezzo forte del disco è proprio la title track “Imajica “, una suite dove si raggiunge il solenne in 7 atti che presentano tutte le caratteristiche citate in precedenza, 23 minuti di atmosfere mistiche! Chiude il disco la riflessiva “Will Remember“. Il disco della durata di ben 74 minuti è stato mixato e masterizzato ai celebri New Sin di Luigi Stefanini. Il passo avanti rispetto al suo predecessore Golden Metal (The Quest for the Inner Glory​) è notevole e molte sono le idee e le sfumature utilizzate. La strada è quella giusta avanti così! Imajica is an epic and mystical metal-rock concept album/opera divided into three acts, exploring the strong connection between art and magic, interwoven with personal experiences and reflections on humanity's present and future. It's the second chapter in the Gabriel Raven adventure saga. Understanding Imajica won't be easy, and multiple listens will be necessary to grasp every symbol and magical artifact the author has hidden within. Starting from a classic metal foundation, epic and symphonic atmospheres can immediately be perceived starting with the opener, "Wisdom of Imagination." But the atmospheres can quickly become dark and gothic, as in "Gothic Church," with a pressing rhythm and highly theatrical vocals. The atmosphere of the entire album is very spiritual, verging on the sacred. The album cover itself already foreshadows what we're about to hear: something metaphysical, almost like finding ourselves in another dimension. The rhythmic base of bass and drums is pressing, complemented by a full-bodied guitar that does its job admirably on "Lucifer's Treasures." But the keyboards and symphonic arrangements provide just the right evocative and solemn touch. There's also room for the ballad of the moment, "In Your Eyes (Emerald Light)," where Antonio duets with Claudia Beltrame. But the highlight of the album is the title track, "Imajica," a suite that reaches the solemn in seven acts that showcase all the characteristics mentioned above, 23 minutes of mystical atmospheres! The reflective "Will Remember" closes the album. The 74-minute album was mixed and mastered by Luigi Stefanini's renowned New Sin. It's a significant improvement over its predecessor, Golden Metal (The Quest for the Inner Glory), and many new ideas and nuances have been incorporated. We're on the right track, so keep going!
