RECENSIONE di "IMAJICA" - ProgressivaMente Blog Spot Affascinante nuovo album per Antonio Giorgio, compositore che avevamo già conosciuto per il precedente e gradevole Golden Metal. La spinta epica di quel lavoro confluisce in sonorità maggiormente progressive, un viaggio fantasy in cui Antonio oltre a citare nomi come Virgin Steele e Kamelot si avvicina al mood di Conception e Royal Hunt, sostenuto da un nutrito numero di musicisti tra i quali Claudia Beltrame, Steve Vawamas, Diego Banchero, Antonello Giliberto, Gabriels e Beppi Menozzi. Più maturo come songwriting, Imajica appare sin dalle prime battute come un disco meglio sviluppato rispetto a quanto fatto in precedenza, anche vocalmente Antonio pare più consapevole, e l’album sconta solo una lunghezza forse eccessiva, probabilmente qualche passaggio più snello avrebbe giovato alla fluidità dell’opera tutta. Il campano però non ha il dono della sintesi e la passione contagiosa che traspare per la musica e l’arte in generale sfocia all’interno dei suoi album e in brani come Wisdom of imagination, Lucifer’s treasures e In your eyes, tra le cose migliori di questo ritorno ricco di soluzioni e di situazioni intriganti. The epic thrust of that work flows into a predominantly progressive sound, a fantasy journey in which Antonio, in addition to citing names like Virgin Steele and Kamelot, approaches the mood of Conception and Royal Hunt, supported by a large number of musicians including Claudia Beltrame, Steve Vawamas, Diego Banchero, Antonello Giliberto, Gabriels, and Beppi Menozzi. With a more mature songwriting style, Imajica appears from the very beginning to be a more developed album than his previous work. Vocally, Antonio also seems more self-aware, and the album's only complaint is its perhaps excessive length; perhaps a few more streamlined passages would have benefited the overall flow. However, the Campania native does not have the gift of synthesis and the contagious passion that shines through for music and art in general flows into his albums and in songs like Wisdom of Imagination, Lucifer’s Treasures and In Your Eyes, among the best things about this return rich in solutions and intriguing situations.
